This housing development in Hackney, London, comprises of 7 residential units in a stylish apartment block. The owner purchased the development on an underutilised brown field site without any associated planning permission. Planning permission was obtained and DPA were asked to develop and make changes to the existing plans and provide Building Regulation Drawings.
The scheme design proposed a four storey building occupying the front section of the site. The ground floor has been designed to house a 2 bedroom wheelchair accessible unit and a further 2 bedroom flat. The upper floors contain 5 further flats. There is a lift in the block and all of the flats are wheelchair accessible.
The primary aim of the project was to provide a high density mix of housing with excellent public transport accessibility.
The external design of this development reflects traditional styles whilst using a multitude of cutting-edge construction technologies which have been employed throughout. to ensure that The development meets the very highest building regulation standards.
